8 Steps of Making Money on Twitter

There are numerous ways to make money on Twitter, a social media website that has gained more than 1 BILLION users since its birth in 2006. Roughly 20% of these users are businesses. These businesses use Twitter to keep in touch with clients and sends messages about deals and brands. Some people use twitter to promote their careers, services and partners. If you are a capable Twitter user, you can use this site for cashing in and make bank, bro… Sorry about that. Anyway, you need to be good at marketing yourself, marketing for others and staying in touch with trends and all the latest events. Follow the steps below to make money on twitter.

Learn to be a masterful Twitter user – No one with beginners Twitter skills can make money on Twitter. You need to be an expert at getting people to follow you, using multiple accounts and creating captivating tweets.
Get some experience in marketing – To monetize yourself, you need an understand of basic marketing concepts, such as Internet marketing schemes and affiliate marketing. Create a website or resume that shows you have marketing and Twitter experience to websites who are looking to advertise their Twitter account.
Business Twitter Account
Create a business Twitter account – Sites like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube are ideal for website lead generation. Try a strategy by giving out Twitter-only deals or a free trial, if the user clicks a Twitter link and signs up for an account. Offering free services spreads quickly and can be a great way to make money on Twitter. Cash in by contacting these leads through email with product offers targeted to their interests.
Start a blog site & become an affiliate marketer - Use a site like WordPress (very user friendly) to start your own website or blog page. Find products, which offer an affiliate program, that people who read your blog would be interested in, and then contact the company to get an affiliate link to put on your blog page. For every 15 – 30 tweets you write, include an affiliate link in a Tweet. Be sure to highly recommend this link as this can be a great way to make money on Twitter.
What is Affiliate marketing? This service allows people who advertise their products on a blog or website to get a percent or portion of a product’s sales. The makers of the product will gain valuable advertising, while the affiliate marketer can get monthly checks sent to them from a percentage of sales, if the marketing is done properly and sucessfully.

Write articles for Blog Sites - Sign up with various blog sites like Bukisa.com. This particular online publisher contracts people to write interesting articles and then make money off the advertising in the side columns. You can work your way up a tiered based list rated by the quality and clicks you get from the articles or videos you created.
Sign up for sponsored tweeting – Businesses like Adly, Magpie, TwitPub or Twittad offer sponsored tweeting . These sites have collected companies that need to have sponsored ads and make them available to willing Twitter users. Sign up for any of these accounts, tweet an ad, and usually you will make money on Twitter and be paid by PayPal. Just be sure not to tweet all ads. People will stop following you. A good rule is to keep at least 10-15 non-advertising tweets between each ad.
Making Money With Twitter
Sell your own stuff - Many people use Twitter to promote eBay auctions or craigslist sales. You can simply tweet a link on your Twitter account, and with an intimate touch, you are likely to get more bids and views and make money on Twitter.
Sell yourself on Twitter – Don’t physically sell yourself. I am pretty sure that is illegal. Tons of professionals are using Twitter as a way to stay in touch with other people in their industry and potential new clients. This new type of networking allows you to develop personal relationships, develop partnerships and sell yourself to the world.
You cannot have an account solely to try to make money on Twitter. Twitter is primarily a social media community. If you stop tweeting interesting facts or funny jokes, you WILL lose followers, you WILL lose interesting chances for professional development, and in the end lose the chance to make money on Twitter. Keep it fun, keep it friendly.
Good Luck!
